Building Resilience Through Care: A Model Respite Program for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities in Ukraine (Djerela)
The purpose of this project is to provide critical support for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) and their caregivers in Ukraine, addressing the increased vulnerability caused by the ongoing war.
The project aims to establish a model respite care facility in Bohuslav, offering professional, temporary care for individuals with ID. This will provide immediate relief to caregivers while promoting community-based care as an alternative to institutionalization.
The project also includes a strong focus on long-term change through capacity-building activities for 118 local NGOs, coordinated by the "Coalition for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Due to Intellectual Violations."
